    Stay Black & Live Juneteenth Festival

    The fourth annual fest on the theme "Austin Family Reunion" offers several days of programming, from community kickbacks, dance parties, cookouts, and live music to dynamic conversations with thought leaders, educators and public scholars. Grammy nominee SaulPaul, Grammy winner Pamela Dawson, James Beard honoree Michael T. Twitty, and Pulitzer winner Dr. Annette Gordon-Reed are just a few of the highlights of the weeklong festivities.

    Newly Restored: A special encore of three newly restored films made between 1968 and 1973 that portray the great American novelist, essayist, and activist James Baldwin’s travels and encounters with fellow intellectuals in Istanbul, Paris, and London. Includes "James Baldwin: From Another Place" (D: Sedat Pakay, 1973, 12 min.); "Meeting the Man: James Baldwin in Paris" (D: Terence Dixon, 1971, 26 min.); and "Baldwin's N****r" (D: Horace Ové, 1968, 46 min.).
