Mother Water House, Twin Lovers, Vegetable Kingdom

Loosely conceptualized around Philip K. Dick’s Flow My Tears, the Policeman Said, the eponymous, self-released debut by Houston experimental pop duo Twin Lovers – Melissa Jean and Markus Cone – carries its weight in musical ideas, recalling the ethereal dream-pop of Chromatics and AI-keen artist Holly Herndon, with nods to Tangerine Dream’s mood-building savvy. Bookends come local glam-pop headliners Mother Water House and Vegetable Kingdom’s opening tape-loop soul noise. – Greg Stitt
