Sweet Knives, Lenguas Largas, Xetas, Prisoner

Formed as an outlet for the 100-plus catalog of songs left in limbo after Memphis garage revivalists Lost Sounds’ 2005 mid-tour breakup and the early 2010 death of co-lead Jay Reatard, remaining members Alicja Trout and company continued the natural trajectory of the band onward as yet another River City band to watch. Tucson psych-punks Lenguas Largas and Lockhart power trio Xetas thrash first. – Greg Stitt
