Assembling electro-acoustic tapestries from analog synths, harpsichords, and reed organs, Calgary native Sarah Davachi’s unassuming Pale Bloom graduates from stark solo piano suite into avant-garde meditation. Citing La Monte Young as an influence, the L.A.-based composer deconstructs sound to yield a beatific blur of melodious noise. Some 40 releases in the last decade, electro-classical multi-instrumentalist Sean McCann opens. – Greg Stitt
