“It’s pronounced “p a w n – s a y,” states the duo’s Facebook, “twinzies rockin’ since the womb.” Originally from Indiana, Carson and Michael Poncé moved to Nashville, where last year’s debut EP Afterglow originated Britpop synth bounce in service of a subtle Eighties/Nineties retro rock timelessness. Stated influences Rick Springfield and Tom Petty are readily apparent in “Elevator” and “Moving to Los Angeles,” respectively. – Raoul Hernandez
