MusiCares Sober Jam presented by Face the Music

Stress, expectations, and family commitments make the holidays a trying time for people in recovery. For artists battling drug and alcohol addiction, music remains a healthy outlet, but bars and venues can be big-time triggers. Austin’s Sober Jam, running monthly since 2006, allots an appropriate environment. A free-for-all jam runs 6-7pm, followed by an all-genre open mic for sober songwriters. – Kevin Curtin
