Marshall Crenshaw

Even a full decade removed from 10th and most recent studio LP Jaggedland, Marshall Crenshaw, 65, remains a modern pop staple. The Detroit songsmith’s early-Eighties Top 40 strike "Someday, Someway" and power-pop gem "Whenever You're on My Mind" led to Grammy-nominated soundtracks (Walk Hard) and songs being covered by Ronnie Spector. Meanwhile, Crenshaw’s been paying it forward on tour with Buddy Holly and Grant Hart covers. – Greg Stitt
