Juneteenth block party w/ JC Stringz, Matthew Robinson Band, DrumLine, Capitol View Arts' Emerging Artists Hip Hop Showcase, & more

Part of a free weeklong festival celebrating Black art in Austin, Friday’s 11th Street block party compiles a wide-ranging, 13-act lineup of community excellence. Blues bandleader Matthew Robinson represents the local legacy, having performed on the Eastside since the late Sixties with the Mustangs; skilled guitarist and violinist JC Stringz shines for the youth. Elite local hip-hop shows out, too, with DoWrong aka Lil’ Bully riding high off fiery Beautiful Nightmares EP and producer/lyricist Kydd Jones, who just released the great, reflective single “TV On.” – Kevin Curtin
