Whether it be Carrie Fussell’s hearty vox over Calliope Musicals’ synthy psychedelia, Acey Monaro’s rasp on Go Fever’s surf rock grooves, or Lolita Lynne’s tender notes across her sleepy melodies, certain emotional frequencies are only attainable through female vocalization. Although existing, acting, and identifying as a woman is considered a pre-existing condition, these locals demonstrate that it’s not. – Isabella Castro-Cota
