Dan Auerbach & the Easy Eye Sound Revue

Since eighth Black Keys LP Turn Blue dropped in 2014, frontman Dan Auerbach put out both Yours, Dreamily with garage hook meisters the Arcs and sophomore solo disc Waiting on a Song last year. Now, out of his analog-as-hell Easy Eye Sound Studios in Nashville, the guitarist helms an old-school soul revue showcasing not only his own the-Band-at-Stax grooves and Robert Finley’s soul/blues/gospel mash-up, but Oakland’s Shannon & the Clams, whose new Onion LP sounds like a 1963 Top 40 chart. – Tim Stegall
