Ditching the drum machine for an indie-pop band on October sophomore platter Perfect Love Song, Robin Edwards pulls in fellow Seattleites Bree McKenna (Tacocat) on bass and Tom Fitzgibbon on drums to flesh out a nostalgic yet evergreen style. Rose Melberg of influential twee-poppers Tiger Trap and Go Sailor produced the Father/Daughter Records release in addition to providing backing vocals. Locals Stretch Panic and Hex Boyfriend open.
Allison Moorer and sister Shelby Lynne began publicly unraveling their turbulent youth with 2017’s covers album Not Dark Yet, featuring the original “Is It Too Much.” In her new memoir and album, both titled Blood, Moorer confronts her parents’ murder-suicide with a poetic clarity and spiritual strength. New husband Hayes Carll joins for the reading and acoustic performance.
