    Society Sessions w/ Temple Underground

New nonprofit the Society for the Preservation of Texas Music continues its free Tuesday series, in collaboration with the city’s Cultural Arts Division, with Temple Underground. Bandleader Brannen Temple, staple winner of the Austin Music Awards’ “Best Drummer” category, serves as our burg’s first-call rhythm king, but thrives leading this cold-as-ice soul/jazz/funk/rock combo.

    Party Nails, Prxzm [inside]

Emitting high-gloss Carly Rae Jepsen shine, L.A. singer-songwriter Elana Belle Carroll throws powerful pop punches on debut Past Lives and Paychecks. As Party Nails, the producer shakes bright melodies with varied electronic directions. She co-headlines with ethereal synth-pop duo PRXZM, launched from Indiana University to recent EP High Desert. Tracks like “New Car” merge guitar grooves and big dance beats. Texas-raised, L.A.-based Bellsaint opens with smoky ballads.
