    Skeleton, Hotmom, Choir Cherry, Mudd

September saw the issue of the charmingly titled Bathroom Scene split EP. Four tunes feature sludgecore trio Mudd, who sound like they’d been raised on a steady diet of vintage Sub Pop grunge-grinders Tad. Release-mates Hotmom, meanwhile, sound like every Kim Gordon-led Sonic Youth tune played at once. The pair kicks off a tour this evening, joined by tinny cassette-core experimentalists Choir Cherry and Austin’s heaviest metal/punk bone collectors Skeleton.
