The Wagoneers came out of Austin during the 1980s with a sound that quickly attracted a following among traditionalists as well as the rockabilly crowd. The Wagoneers have been inducted into the Texas Music Hall of Fame, and consist of: Multi-platinum songwriter Monte Warden on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Brent Wilson on lead guitar and contributing backing vocals, Brad Fordham on bass, and drummer Mas Palermo. Don't miss this incredible night of music as they play a special set at Threadgill's Old No. 1.
Black Pistol Fire’s first Austin show since a coruscating set at Emo’s 14 months back gives locals another chance to witness drum animal Eric Owen and high-flying guitarist/vocalist Kevin McKeown bash out cuts from diverse fifth strike Deadbeat Graffiti, which fuzzes out on soul, rock, and garage punk. Phranchyze and Zeale’s thrilling rap collab, Blackillac, follows golden-voiced rocker Emily Wolfe.
Nearly a decade after the release of the Lovely Sparrows’ debut LP, Bury the Cynics, Shawn Jones returns with new music. Shake the Shadow swoons immediately familiar to local fans, jangly mellow and richly textured folk-bent pop hinging on Jones’ literate and intimate narratives – as if he’s whispering tales of love and heartbreak in a library. Linen Closet and Dead Recipe set the stage.
