Corb Lund, Mayeux & Broussard, John Evans

With 2015’s ninth LP, Things That Can’t Be Undone, Corb Lund kicked into a new gear. The Dave Cobb-produced platter struck with energy, irreverence, and clever songwriting that delivered the Canadian alt.country troubadour’s best outing since 2002’s breakout Five Dollar Bill, sounding like a guitar romping mix of Hayes Carll and Langhorne Slim. Local swamp howlers Mayeux & Broussard precede Lund’s Hurtin’ Albertans.

Unplugged at the Grove w/ Charley Crockett

When Charley Crockett played KGSR’s Unplugged at the Grove last year, the crowd surged with the kind of knowing electricity of watching a relatively unknown talent before they break big. Expect the same for the San Benito native’s return, although two excellent LPs in the past year have launched him to bigger stages as the songwriter continues to wrangle an eclectic rodeo of roots styles.
