Sunny Sweeney & Ward Davis, Tennessee Jet

Beauty and the beard? Calling Sunny Sweeney Austin’s Margo Price does both country sirens a disservice, but Tammy Wynette and Loretta Lynn also echo in the local East Texas native’s trad country triumph, fourth LP Trophy. Arkansas beardo Ward Davis wields a calling card whose first two credits are co-composing Fort Worth drawler Cody Jinks’ “I’m Not the Devil” and having country titans Willie Nelson & Merle Haggard cover “Unfair Weather Friend.” Nashville’s Tennessee Jet opens.
