  • Skull Mechanix One-Year Anniversary

Beer, art and music are Skull Mechanix's passions. They brew beer designed for the working class and enthusiasts alike. Their beer stimulates the finer mechanics of your skull. They want you to see, smell and taste their dedication to craft beer, or you can think of them as "Mechanics for your Head!" Either way, they have 16 different styles to chose from along with guest ciders and wine in their large indoor beer garden.

The Spits, Trouble Boys, Mujeres Podridads, Muther

A rarity in punk: 25 years in, the Spits are at the top of their game. The wild bunch, formed in Michigan in the early Nineties by brothers Sean and Erin Wood, mimic a frantic, garage-punk Ramones and often wear lo-fi stage getups – including balaclavas – during their reckless live shows. Perfected local pairings slot them with leather-jacketed street rock trio Trouble Boys, riot grrrl en Español act Mujeres Podridas, and thrash’n’rollers Muther.

Headcrusher, Koyi K Utho, Vex, DSGNS, Daggra, Glassing

First of two Colombian convergences this week (see Saturday’s Tribu Baharú and Kiko Villamizar show at Flamingo Cantina), local death metal heavyweights Headcrusher host popular homeland compatriots Koyi K Utho in one of four Texas blitzkriegs. The Bogotá quintet’s industrial metal bursts behind corpsepainted theatre best described as the audiovisual companion to Alien vs. Predator. Headcrusher’s recent Mexico tour surely finds the rare ATX performers combat ready.
