    Toni Price

Resplendent in silver, blue, and gold, Toni Price stole the charisma crown from Lucinda Williams in February at the Austin Music Awards. Inducted into the AMA Hall of Fame, the former queen of South Congress gave a 1,000-watt smile upon her exit. The same doesn’t hold true of the blues diva’s exit from a three-decade “hippie hour” residency at the Continental Club, but her first post-Congress Avenue Tuesday residency at this deep South Austin eatery will illustrate her overdue honors.

Front 242, Azar Swan, Curse Mackey

Seminal Belgians, Front 242’s industrial Eighties electronica was itself a product of influences including Stockhausen, musique concrète, and Giorgio Moroder, among others. The five-member dark synth group is oft mentioned as a precursor to techno and in the same breath as Ministry and Nitzer Ebb. Fans include rising techno stars Volvox of NYC and Hamburg’s Helena Hauff.
