    Melodie

Austin’s Movement Collective continues curating Romanian minimalists with Cristi Tudorache. As Melodie, the producer/DJ represents the housier side of his country’s growling, bassline-driven house and techno. Contrasting classical sounds from compatriots like Petre Inspirescu, Raresh, and Rhadoo – each helping lay the foundation of Tudorache’s genre in their Southeastern European enclave – expect deep, thumping bass, micro slices of crunching synth, and acid squelches. Location reveal accompanies ticket purchase.

    The Coffee Sergeants

Drawing influence from early Pink Floyd and L.A.’s Paisley Underground, Coffee Sergeants blazed their own neo-psychedelic trajectory locally. Clocking a quarter-century, debut album Moonlight Towers relights with a stem to stern performance. The second set previews an upcoming spring release and airs a potpourri from a substantive catalog plus some choice covers.

The Devil Makes 3, Huntress & Holder of Hands

Following Buddy Miller-produced fourth LP breakout I’m a Stranger Here, DM3 boldly unloaded a covers collection in 2016’s Redemption & Ruin. The eclectic mix of stringed-stripped interpretations perfectly suited the California trio’s eclectic Americana romp, from bluegrass burners to rockabilly rhythms. The Huntress and Holder of Hands opens with 2017’s gorgeously dark debut Avalon, MorganEve Swain (Brown Bird) regrouping with an emotive string quintet after her husband’s passing.

    Anderson East, J.S. Ondara

When trendsetting Nashville producer Dave Cobb started his own label, Anderson East was the first artist signed with good reason. The Alabama native drives Southern soul sweating a seductive and intoxicating power, with enough vocal grit to stick and R&B rhythm to swagger. Fresh third LP Encore stakes East’s rising star alongside swooning songwriters like Ray Lamontagne. Minneapolis-via-Nairobi songwriter J.S. Ondara acts as must-catch opener.
