ATX Sliders: Grand Opening
Austin-based restaurant group Delectable Innovations presents its newest food truck, ATX Sliders, at the legendary Saxon Pub in South Austin. Helmed by Valentina’s Tex Mex co-founder chef Michael Lerner and Carlos Cruz, former executive chef of Hilton Austin, this kitchen-on-wheels will be serving up a variety of gourmet beef, chicken, and vegetarian sliders, and, with each purchase of the Slider of the Month, the team will donate $2 to the monthly nonprofit partner. (June's slider is a Green Chile Pork Slider – a pork patty, provolone, hatch green chile, baby arugula, pickled onions, and green chili aioli – benefiting Austin Pets Alive!) Waterloo Gin: World Gin Day at Treaty Oak Distilling
Yes, Waterloo Gin, those local producers of that favorite of boozy botanicals, celebrates World Gin Day with a party out in Treaty Oak's Hill Country patch of paradise this weekend – and you're invited. In addition to complimentary tastings, there'll also be an exclusive release of barrel-aged Old Yaupon Gin; the stuff's been aged for two years in one of Treaty Oak's second-use Ghost Hill Bourbon barrels to create its uniquely sophisticated flavor. Oh, and? A whole day of cocktail flights (featuring Waterloo Gin, of course), along with food and drink specials at the venue's acclaimed Alice’s Restaurant.
