Bastille Day Celebration at Le Politique

It's always a good idea to overthrow feckless tyranny – hint, hint – and it's also good to celebrate historical triumphs of the same flavor. Especially when the place that's celebrating is much about flavor, n'est-ce pas? And so here's that excellent French restaurant in the Seaholm district, brightening our Bastille Day with freshly baked red-white-and-blue macarons (from 7am-4pm), Popsicle-and-Champagne pour-overs (from Champagne Supply Co.), sweet and savory crêpe stations during brunch service, a freakin' Champagne waiters' race(!) at 11am, and, oh, yes: live music and dinner specials. Vive la résistance!

    Brunch at Satellite

You already know that those brothers who ran the Flipnotics Coffeespace on Barton Springs Road for so many years are the helmsmen of this excellent eatery on Slaughter, right? OK, you're cool. But did you know that Satellite's weekend brunch hours have changed? And that they've got that big-ass brunch going on Fridays, too? Uh huh – wipe that drool off your gob and check the website, breakfastlover.
