    Fish House Punch: The Competition

The Taste Network presents the booze-forward battlers for the Texas edition of this "spirited competition," a culinary event that features Buffalo Trace Bourbon, bites from sustainable fisheries, and world-class wines. Each of the acclaimed barkeeps (Olamaie's Erin Ashford, Emmer & Rye's Randy Attwood, ACL Live's Aaron Kolitz, and Sarah Rahl of Austin Proper) will create a hand-crafted Fish House Punch to reintroduce one of the oldest surviving colonial American libations, score judges' votes, and help raise funds for culinary grant programs in Austin, Dallas, and Houston. Succulent seafood in an afternoon of punch-savvy drinkslinging at Downtown's celebrated Basque pinxto and cocktail bar? Mmmmm, sounds like a whole sustainable ocean of delight to us.
    Sun., June 6, 3-5:30pm. $50.
