Davis' photos and videos capture the grrrls grrrls grrrls of Austin's lezzie rock scene in the Nineties.     Artisan Mercado

    The Artisan Mercado has reopened at La Peña Gallery with social distancing and safety measures in place. The market features Latino products from different regions of Mexico, Honduras, Colombia, and the Southwest, including handcrafted jewelry and ceramics, ethnic clothing and handbags, as well as paintings and drawings. Parking is available at the Austin Convention Center.

    Atelier Dojo: Remote Studios

    The local powerhouse of figurative painting, the art school that's the smart school for artists of all kinds, they've got a painting-along-at-home series going to help you keep your skills honed in these socially restrictive times, featuring live costumed models posing on camera and a thriving community of creatives rendering that lovely human biotecture from their separate studios. "Join us for a three-hour costumed-model drawing session. Use any supplies you wish, listen to music, share your work, chat with others. It’s a great way to stay connected with your art community!"

    ATX Ballers Online Basketball Tutorials

    Local youth basketball organization ATX Ballers is providing free basketball video lessons that kiddos can do from home, even without a hoop! Expert coaches will upload a few engaging video lessons each week for the rest of the semester, complete with lesson goals to accomplish, for both beginners and experienced players.

    AAC opened June 1 for pet adoptions and lost pet intake by appointment only. Drop-ins will only be accepted for sick or injured pets. Check out pet bios online and schedule an adoption appointment via email at ASOanimaladoption@austintexas.gov, and schedule intake appointments here.
