Bullock Texas State History Museum: This Light of Ours

This show features images by activist photographers of the Civil Rights Movement, telling a visual story of the struggle against segregation, race-based disenfranchisement, and Jim Crow laws in the 1960s. These photos capture the day-to-day struggles of everyday citizens and their resolve in the face of violence and institutionalized discrimination – with more than a dozen additional images representing activism and protest in Austin's own history.

Central Texas Food Bank Donations Urgently Needed

Central Texas Food Bank is experiencing a dramatic increase in the need for their services and one of their major fundraising events has been canceled, leaving them in dire need of funding to bridge the gap. You can help by donating online; a $25 donation provides 100 meals for families in need. Get your friends and neighbors involved by hosting a virtual food drive or Facebook fundraiser. If everyone pitches in, the food bank can keep up with the demand caused by the pandemic and ensure no family in the community goes hungry.

In the meantime, follow them on Facebook and Instagram for fun facts, livestreams of the farm, prairie trivia, archive exploration, and more. Esther's Follies

You don't have to slog your way through Dirty Sixth anymore, citizen – you can catch the arch antics and musical mayhem of the Esther's crew on video as they unleash fresh new sketches and songs and more about the hottest topics of the day. And there's all sorts of behind-the-scenes extras now, too, and it's all available via their Patreon page. You need to laugh right about now, so this is a good idea, right? And sports are important, sure they are, but wouldn't you rather be a local comedy supporter than a local athletic supporter? [*pauses for response, hears only crickets*] Right – leaving it to these professionals, then.
