    Austin Asian American Film Festival

    With over 20 films by Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) filmmakers, this year’s festival will celebrate Texas filmmakers, documentaries about older generations of Asian Americans, and a wide range of narrative short films.

    Austin Jewish Film Festival Summer Series

    The San Antonio Jewish Film Festival and the Austin Jewish Film Festival co-present a series featuring eight great new films and bonus content to keep you entertained all summer. In honor of Israel’s 75th birthday, all films are Israeli, and for most of these films, this will be their Texas premiere. All are geo-locked to Texas, but those traveling can request an adjustment via email.

    Paramount Summer Classic Film Series

    What's better than a classic film in a cool historic theatre on a hot summer day? The annual series is packed to the brim with excellent films, with almost 100 of them programmed with themes such as Black Excellence, the Pfeifferverse, Hitchcock Week, Robert Rodriguez Presents, Majestic Ball Week, and so many more. Individual tickets and multi-film passes are available. Robert Rodriguez selection What's Up, Doc? closes the series Sept. 2.

    Austin Public 50th Anniversary

    In celebration of Austin Public Access Television Channel 10's 50th anniversary, the Austin Film Society hosts a free come-and-go open house. The public is invited to explore the space, take an interactive tour of the facilities, and enjoy complimentary refreshments to commemorate five decades of this vital non-commercial local institution.

    Greater Austin Comic Con

    With open gaming and e-sports tournaments, board games, celebrities, and cosplay contests. Among those slated to appear: George Takei (Sulu, Star Trek), James Hong (Big Trouble in Little China, Kung Fu Panda), and the voice actors for many anime characters, including Katara, Naruto, and more.
    June 24-25. Sat., 10am-6pm; Sun., 10am-5pm. $40.
