    Fantastic Fest

    The celebration of global genre cinema returns. Devoted to horror, fantasy, sci-fi, action, and just plain fantastic movies from all around the world, Fantastic Fest is a film festival like no other. Highlights include sidebars dedicated to Mexican genre film and LGBTQ representation within genre cinema; Bong Joon-ho's Cannes-lauded Parasite; and closing night film Knives Out with writer/director Rian Johnson in attendance.

    Crazy Ex-Girlfriend Trivia Night

    In conjunction with Austin Film Festival and Get It Gals, this trivia night tests fans' knowledge of (i.e., obsession with) the recently concluded musical-comedy series. Show co-creators Aline Brosh McKenna and star Rachel Bloom present the short doc "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend: Oh My God I Think It's Over" with director Katie Hyde at next month's AFF (Oct. 24-31).

    Storytelling Through Director Bong Joon-ho’s Eyes

    Hear from acclaimed South Korean writer-director Bong Joon-ho (Okja, Snowpiercer) about his career and his most recent film, Parasite, which is making its Texas premiere the next day at Fantastic Fest (Sept. 19-26) Moody College of Communication alumnus Mike Simpson of WME represents Bong and will also be in attendance. This discussion will be moderated by RTF Department Chair Noah Isenberg.
