The Limits of Control

The Limits of Control

2009, R, 116 min. Directed by Jim Jarmusch. Starring Isaach De Bankolé, Gael García Bernal, Paz de la Huerta, Tilda Swinton, John Hurt, Hiam Abbass, Bill Murray, Alex Descas, Jean-François Stévenin, Óscar Jaenada, Luis Tosar, Youki Kudoh.

Not reviewed at press time. It's probably quite telling, as a friend pointed out to me, that the latest film from indie film figurehead Jarmusch premiered in the U.S. mere days before the opening of Cannes, where the international film community regards Jarmusch as more of a godhead than figurehead. His movie is an elliptical story about a loner and the criminal activity in which he's involved. No advance screenings were held in Austin.
