No Good Deed
2003, R, 97 min. Directed by Bob Rafelson. Starring Samuel L. Jackson, Milla Jovovich, Stellan Skarsgard, Doug Hutchison, Grace Zabriskie, Joss Ackland.
Not reviewed at press time. Jackson stars as a police detective, auto-theft division, whose search for a friend’s missing daughter somehow finds him knee-deep in a gaggle of international bond thieves. With Bob Rafelson (Five Easy Pieces, The Postman Always Rings Twice) at the helm and a script based on a Dashiell Hammett story ("The House on Turk Street"), expect more than a smidge of macho existentialism.
