The Ruling Class

1972, R, 154 min. Directed by Peter Medak. Starring Peter O'Toole, Alastair Sim, Harry Andrews, Coral Browne.

REVIEWED By Marjorie Baumgarten, Tue., July 23, 2002

Nutty black comedy ensues when an heir to a British lordship thinks he's Jesus Christ. Outrageous in its time, the film's eccentricities (characters burst into song and dance) are indeed its charms.
