Six in Austin
2002, NR Directed by Kat Candler, Gonzalo Gonzalez, Geoff Marslett, Wyatt & Zack Phillips, Bob Ray, David & Nathan Zellner.
REVIEWED By Marjorie Baumgarten, Tue., July 23, 2002
Inspired by the omnibus film Six in Paris (which will screen next Saturday, Aug. 3), six familiar Austin filmmakers and/or filmmaking-brother teams were commissioned by producers Anne Del Castillo and Tamara Klindt last summer to film six separate vignettes related only by their formatting requirements and the fact that they are all set in Austin. The result is Six in Austin, which was filmed in DV format and was widely seen at this year's SXSW Film Festival. (More background on the film can be found at austinchronicle.com/issues/dispatch/2001-11-02/screens_feature.html.)
