The Brother From Another Planet

The Brother From Another Planet

1984, NR, 104 min. Directed by John Sayles. Starring Bill Cobbs, David Strathairn, Maggie Renzi, Steve James, Darryl Edwards, Joe Morton, Sayles.

REVIEWED By Marjorie Baumgarten, Mon., April 1, 2002

Sayles' fourth feature is an extraterrestrial fantasy about a black escaped prisoner from outer space who lands in Harlem. His muteness allows others to read into him whatever they want and he becomes the ultimate insider/outsider and is also pursued for capture. Sayles and Renzi are also featured actors in the film.
