Flicker No.7

Flicker No. 7 marks the one-year anniversary of this bimonthly film festival that showcases short films by local and national filmmakers who submit works via mail. Flicker guarantees an array of projects and intriguing juxtapositions at every screening, with linear narratives butting up against radical experiments, polished productions followed by earnest first efforts. All films are under 15 minutes in length and originate on film. All admission proceeds go toward the Flicker Film Grant, which awards $100 to a deserving local filmmaker at each and every Flicker. Included in this screening are the Austin-made films "Peaceful Light" by Shannon Owens, "Seventh Heaven" by Chris Meister, "Beelzebub's Bathtub" by Andre Silva, "Long Island Railroad" by Mike Sterner, and "Messengers of the Arrow" by Jim Sanders, as well as other films by Flicker L.A.'s Norwood Cheek, Flicker Chapel Hill's Jim Haverkamp annd more. The winner of the old Super 8 film "Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Asphalt, but Were Afraid to Ask," Aaron Behr, will also premiere his new, improved, and widely manipulated version for your viewing pleasure.
