The Caveman's Valentine

R, 105 min. Directed by Kasi Lemmons. Starring Samuel L. Jackson, Colm Feore, Ann Magnuson, Damir Andrei, Aunjanue Ellis, Tamara Tunie, Anthony Michael Hall.

Not reviewed at press time. The Caveman's Valentine has received a weak critical reception, which is surprising considering the talent within -- director Kasi Lemmons debuted with the impressive Eve's Bayou, producer Danny Devito's credits include the Academy-Award winning Traffic, and star Samuel L. Jackson could make a carpet-cleaner infomercial look good. Jackson (Shaft, Pulp Fiction) plays a schizophrenic, homeless composer who turns detective in this ”neo-gothic thriller.“
