Cine Las Américas is a nine-day festival that focuses on contemporary films by and about Latinos. Films hail from the United States, South America, and the Caribbean. Some highlights include personal appearances by directors Angel Torres from Mexico, Jose Sanchez from Bolivia, and Esteban Zul, Vangie Greigo, and Albert Caballero from California. Jim Mendiola, a Sundance Filmmakers Lab participant, will be at the festival as well as Brazil's DJ Dolores. Austinite Heather Courteney's SXSW award-winning film Los Trabajadores will also screen.
