REVIEWED By Marjorie Baumgarten, Thu., April 20, 2000
Princeton-bound preppy Joel Goodsen cuts a little too loose when his folks go out of town, resulting in a movie that is part caper comedy, part suburban satire, and all Eighties. This was Cruise’s breakthrough performance, and the scene of the young actor dancing in his underwear to Bob Seger is, for better or worse, one of the most memorable movie scenes of that decade.
