Noted for his ethnic and regional explorations of everyday life, Les Blank's films have become cultural treasures. Often focusing on food and music, Blank tends to film things he feels passionately about. That's where the Gap-Toothed Women fit in, I suppose. His portrait of Lightnin' Hopkins is an almost anthropological tribute to an American idiom -- the blues. Les Blank will conduct a Q&A after each screening.
