A comedic reimagining of the 1920 silent Western The Toll Gate, live-scored by pianist Justin Sherburn and violinist Leigh Mahoney of Montopolis performing the traditional tango arrangements of Austin composer Glover Gill. Comedian Mac Blake has rewritten the movie in his irreverent and absurdist style, and Monica Caivano and Gustavo Simplis of Esquina Tango will perform during the screening. Over 30 local musicians have donated their art to the SIMS Foundation for an auction to raise funds to support mental health and substance use recovery services for the music industry.
