    The Teresa Lozano Long Institute of Latin American Studies at The University of Texas at Austin will host a free pre-college showcase for rising high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors.     Rodeo Austin

    This annual family-friendly event offers something for everyone: Pro Rodeo action, live music, Austin’s largest carnival, a beer and wine garden, food trucks, a livestock show, and a variety of special attractions. The concert lineup spans a variety of genres, with an eclectic mix including Flo Rida, Sugar Ray, La Zenda Norteña, Tracy Lawrence, and many others.

    The city's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management will feature student artwork in the 2024 Emergency Preparedness Calendar. Central Texas students in kindergarten through eighth grade are invited to create art to be considered for the calendar, which will be distributed at libraries and available for download online.

    This program from the city of Austin, run by Farmshare Austin, has opened new market locations. There are now six weekly markets around town that sell Texas-grown produce, eggs, honey, and other groceries all at reduced prices. Most major cards are accepted at these markets and if you are a SNAP customer, you can also use your Lone Star card and Double Up Food Bucks.
