    Other Worlds Screenplay Contest

    Other Worlds Film Festival's eighth annual screenwriting contest, part of its mission to encourage work in science fiction and horror, is accepting submissions. New this year is the "under 18" category for young'uns starting to learn the craft. Early-bird deadline is March 31; entry fees increase with each following deadline (each month until August).
    Final deadline: Aug. 20

    Water Safety Festival

    Join a free springtime water safety fest presented by Goldfish Swim School in partnership with Colin's Hope. There will be education as well as games, face-painting, a water slide, and more.
    Sun., April 10, 11am-2pm. Free.
