    Annie Jump and the Library of Heaven

    Acclaimed playwright Reina Hardy returns to the Vortex with her first National New Play Network rolling world premiere, bringing her magic and humor to this coming-of-age adventure for everyone who’s ever looked up at the stars and dreamed. "This remarkable play engages young adults and audiences of all ages, bringing science and imagination into the theatre." Directed by Marcus McQuirter and Rudy Ramirez, and starring Jeremy Rashad Brown, Oktavea LaToi, Dane Parker, Christina Blake, and Eva McQuade.

    Start Up Chica ¡Nacional!

    Latinitas' conference is for girls ages 9-14 to learn business skills, invent a media product, and work with real tech mentors. Girls will learn business skills to launch their own startup or product that identifies and solves community issues. As a team, working alongside community mentors, they will come up with a creative solution to a problem, pitch the product to a group of judges, and exit with a passion for entrepreneurship.

    Austin Humane Society's Summer Kids Series

    For a paw-some summer, register your li'l animal lover for AHS's virtual, hands-on educational sessions, including live shelter tours, dog walks, storytime with shelter pets, crafts, and dance sessions. It's all free, and supplies are provided via pickup or you can get a supply list online. Graduation is Aug. 6-7 and comes with a certificate and swag bag.

    The Bullock Museum has an excellent selection of educational programming that can be incorporated into distance learning or experienced just for fun. There are recordings and worksheets on a range of topics as wide as Texas: blues music, extreme mammals, cattle drives, and more. Plus, check out the very cool interactive tools like the Texas history timeline and "Campfire Stories," an interactive version of Amarillo artist Robert T. Ritter's mosaic that leads you to discover the people who wrote the stories of Texas.
