      Austin Humane Society Adventure Week

      Spring break is going to the dogs (and cats) at the Austin Humane Society! Young participants will spend the week exploring how animals and the humans who love them can get outside and stay active. The week kicks off with a "funniest pet" photo contest, and continues with hands-on, educational sessions including storytime, Backyard Bingo with Austin Wildlife Rescue, leash and pet bed craft tutorials, live walks with adoptable dogs, and a behind-the-scenes tour of the shelter. On Saturday, activities will be offered in Spanish.

There are recordings and worksheets on a range of topics as wide as Texas: blues music, extreme mammals, cattle drives, and more. Plus, check out the very cool interactive tools like the Texas history timeline and "Campfire Stories," an interactive version of Amarillo artist Robert T. Ritter's mosaic that leads you to discover the people who wrote the stories of Texas.
