    Community Reading Academy

    Just because the kids are out of school doesn't mean there's no time for learning. For the month of June St. James hosts a Saturday summer reading program for students ages 6-12, taught by state board certified teachers.

    Girl Improved (Short) Film & Theatre Festival

    Youth ages 8-20 are challenged to create content that meets the following parameters: Creative and production teams are at least 50% female or gender nonconforming; at least 50% of the characters in the piece are female or gender nonconforming; the story is centered outside the realm of romance; and it is 10 minutes or less.
    Fri.-Sat., June 22-23, 9:30am-9pm. $20-40.

    If Wishes Were Fishes

    Pollyanna Theatre, a resident company of the Long Center for the Performing Arts, presents this new play, written by award-winning playwright Holly Hepp-Galvan. Best suited for ages 4-9.
    June 22-July 1. Fri., 11:30am; Sat.-Sun., 2pm; Mon., 9:30 & 11:30am. $3-13.50.

    For kids aged 0-5, this series incorporates dancing, singing, and play. Classes are drop-in but pre-registration is required for all newcomers.
    Saturdays in June, 9:30am. Pricing is donation-based.
