  • The Amazing Acro-Cats: Keep It Weird in Austin!

    The Acro-Cats tour supports Rock Cats Rescue, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Rock Cats Rescue is focused on saving cats "One Click at a Time" through cat welfare, rescue, and adoption. The Acro-Cats show promotes the importance of bonding and training cats with positive reinforcement, while also finding homes for rescued cats.

    Summer sessions will take Humane Heroes on an epic adventure to learn what it means to care for a pet of their own and explore ways to help animals in need. The beloved Teddy Bear surgery is back for two sessions, and an outdoor movie night screens June 23. It all culminates in graduation Aug. 3.

    Baby Formula Resources

    Due to the nationwide shortage of baby formula, which disproportionately affects low-income families with transportation and time restraints, Community Resilience Trust provides a helpful online resource. Families in need can sign up for updates on local formula supply and info from WIC, and those in the know can help track the supply by reporting information. Anyone with formula to donate can drop it off at any of several locations; get all the info online.

    The city is seeking a diverse group of applicants to become community climate ambassadors, who will spend about 10 hours per week from August 2022 to January 2023 working on climate change and environmental justice issues. Ambassadors will be compensated at a rate of $25 per hour and will make positive changes in the community with special projects.

    A free community program for qualifying low-income families that focuses on preparing children ages 2-4 for school, while providing their caregivers with the tools to facilitate their child’s development. Classes are offered twice a week in English and Spanish and last one hour.
