  • Learn Mindfulness Meditation for Anxiety and Depression

Interested in exploring a different way of being and living in the world instead of your head? Join the innovative class at MBCT Austin to learn how to be mindful in your daily life and respond to your feelings rather than react to them. You'll learn a unique approach to mindfulness meditation, a practice which has been scientifically proven to change brain chemistry and neuronal structure permanently for the better. The course includes eight (8) classes from 7:00-9:00p.m. on Wednesdays and a half day Saturday retreat. Next course begins April 24th.

L'oca d'oro: The '80s Greatest Lovers and Haters

It's the Cure vs. Metallica in the rock & roll soundtrack for this third annual Valentine's mash-up event, a delectable six-course meal served up by chef Fiore Tedesco and his crew of culinary brilliants, featuring sausage-stuffed fried olives, black truffle fonduta, red snapper crudo, veal ravioli, mussels Ubriaco, and dark chocolate and strawberry layer cake (vegetarian option available). It's a feast that tastes as good as it sounds and sounds as good as it looks, and the only thing missing from the Instagram of the night's delights will be pictures of you – unless you get your tickets ASAP!
    Wed.-Sat., Feb. 13-16. $75 ($50, optional beverage pairing).

    Vino Vino: Valentines

Right there in the heart of the historic Hyde Park neighborhood, this cozy little wine-fueled bastion of culinary goodness is offering two four-course prix-fixe meals – one called "Loves Me," one called "Loves Me Not" – ha! – with optional pairings available for each. Which one features the roasted beets, potato gnocchi, NY strip steak, and strawberry shortcake? Which one features veggie sticks, Cowgirl Creamery's mac & cheese, fried chicken, and an ice cream sundae? You'll know when you're there, which is much less mysterious than love.
    Thu.-Fri., Feb. 14-15, 5-10pm. $75.
