Historic Happy Hour: The End of Nicholas Trist

Nicholas Trist ended the Mexican American War, made the Rio Grande the border between Texas and Mexico, and ended his political stardom in the process. Sheena Cox (UT Austin) explains this as well as the US's first anti-war movement, the lack of purpose the soldiers fighting the war felt, and the rampant starvation in the borderlands. Susto Mezcal and Rosso and Flynn Modern Butcher will make the hour happier with cocktails and a pig roast. A portion of the proceeds benefits Urban Roots.
