    Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Texas' Bowl for Kids

    Saved by the Bowl! Join Big Brothers Big Sisters on a trip back to the Nineties for its 40th annual fundraiser, including a weekend of bowling, food, drinks, costumes, and killer door prizes. Lead-up events include a Spazmatics concert at Speakeasy (March 29, 8pm) and a trivia night at Lustre Pearl East (April 11, 8pm); get details and tickets for those online. Funds raised will support the org's mission to provide caring, adult mentors for children who need them.

    Earth Day Cleanup

    Kick off Earth Day weekend with Rowing Dock and friends for their second annual communitywide water and land cleanup along Lady Bird Lake. Last year, over 1400 volunteers removed 6,000 pounds of trash from lakes and green spaces. This year, Rowing Dock partners with EpicSUP and the Trail Conservancy to make an even bigger impact. Volunteers get a T-shirt and other goodies, with prizes for bringing back the most trash and weirdest item. Plenty of local faves will bring food and drinks to keep volunteers fueled up.

    Old Settler’s Music Festival

    The 36th annual iteration of the fest offers four days of Americana/roots music, camping, jamming, and family fun in beautiful Dale, Texas (just outside of Austin). There'll be music workshops, kids' activities, and a stellar lineup including Yola, the Wood Brothers, Molly Tuttle, Shovels & Rope, Elephant Revival, Tommy Emmanuel, Shinyribs, Sunny War, Melissa Carper, Buffalo Nichols, and lots more.

    Fresh for Less Mobile Markets

    This program from the city of Austin, run by Farmshare Austin, has opened new market locations. There are now six weekly markets around town that sell Texas-grown produce, eggs, honey, and other groceries all at reduced prices. Most major cards are accepted at these markets and if you are a SNAP customer, you can also use your Lone Star card and Double Up Food Bucks. Locations and schedules are subject to change, so check the current info online to find one near you.
