This program from the city of Austin, run by Farmshare Austin, has opened new market locations. There are now six weekly markets around town that sell Texas-grown produce, eggs, honey, and other groceries all at reduced prices. Most major cards are accepted at these markets and if you are a SNAP customer, you can also use your Lone Star card and Double Up Food Bucks. The GCAA program has recognized outstanding communities since 1969, with the Texas Department of Transportation providing landscaping award funding since 1985. This year, ten winning communities will share $2 million in landscaping awards from TxDOT, with the amount based on population size. If your home or business is in need of emergency repairs due to the recent storm, work can begin immediately. The Development Services Department will work with you to retroactively permit and inspect all emergency repairs to ensure work was completed safely.
