    November 2022 General Election

    Vote anywhere you see a "Vote Here/Vote Aquí" sign, and learn about what's on the ballot at austinchronicle.com/elections. Need help getting to the polls? Capital Metro is waiving all fares on election day, including bus, rail, and pickup services, and bike rental service MetroBike is free with the code BIKETOVOTE2022. Lyft is offering half-price rides to the polls with the code VOTE22. You can also request a ride from RideShare2Vote.com. Remember: If you're in line by 7pm, you are allowed to vote.       All Dolled Up: Playing With Identity in 1940s Paper Dolls

      An exhibit demonstrating the cultural messages conveyed to girls in the Forties, with a collection donated to UT's School of Human Ecology. A reception includes the chance for visitors to construct their own paper dolls.

      Platelet Donors Urgently Needed

      A growing community means a growing need for platelets, which are a crucial component of blood used for cancer patients, people with traumatic injuries, and pediatric transplant patients. In an effort to ramp up platelet donations, We Are Blood launched “Power Up,” a program that awards donors who donate five times by Nov. 30. Donors can choose one of four exclusive prizes: an embroidered windbreaker, Alamo movie passes, a tote, or backpack. Schedule online or call 512/206-1266.

      The Annual Great Pumpkin Haul

      Pumpkins are the fave fall food for the residents of Central Texas Pig Rescue. If you've got a hoard of gourds, check CTPR's website for a list of places to donate and guidelines for what is pleasing to the pigs' palates. They could also use some extra hands to transport all the donations.

      The Black Fund Now Accepting Applications

      The Austin Community Foundation has opened a request for proposals for the Black Fund, which will award 16 grants totaling $340,000 in first round of funding to "unleash the power of Black-led organizations and uplift solutions to benefit the Black community in Central Texas."
