    “Women’s Power, Women’s Vote” Exhibit Grand Opening

    The Texas State Library and Archives Commission (TSLAC) unveils its new exhibit on women's suffrage with a special reception featuring refreshments, special activities, and a panel discussion. The exhibit coincides with the centenary of Texas' ratification of the 19th Amendment in June 1919, making it the the ninth of the 36 states needed for national approval.

    Brown State of Mind University

    BSOM University offers a six-course roster of classes centered around cultural contributions of minority groups in America and around the world, from poetry in the Middle East to counterculture America and the Vietnam War. The instructors include local artists, business owners, cultural archivists, and one UT staff affiliate.
    June 5-Aug. 8. Mon.-Thu., 6:30 & 8pm. Free, but donations welcome.
