    Austin Soccer Foundation Awards Banquet

    This awards banquet benefits the local soccer community. Scholarships as well as the Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented at the ceremony. There's a dinner and silent auction cocktail hour for the guests, along with a keynote speech by Djorn Buchholz.

    "Stepping On" Fall Prevention Class

    The workshop is for people who have fallen or fear falling. Participants will leave with more strength, better balance, and a feeling of confidence and independence after performing various exercises and sharing personal experiences with the group.

    25th Annual Flag Day Celebration

    Celebrate Flag Day in historic Hyde Park with vexillologist Jim Ellinger. Bring your own flag, or you can also borrow one. Awards will be handed out for best homemade, international, unique, and kids’ flags; a neighborhood potluck will follow the awards.

    Hippos Painted by Texas School for the Deaf Kids Up for Auction

    Hippos painted by students from the Texas School for the Deaf are up for auction until June 24. Proceeds will benefit the school and its art programs.

    Interfaith Ramadan Iftar Dinner

    Iftar is a communal meal to break the Ramadan fast. UCC and the Dialogue Institute of the Southwest will serve a classic Mediterranean feast complete with a meat, vegetable, grain, salad, beverages, and baklava for dessert. After dinner, members of the Muslim faith will have the opportunity to break off in small groups for evening prayers in the UCC student lounge.

    Million Mile Secrets, a blog that teaches people how to travel free or cheap, is hosting a networking event for travel junkies. Donations will go toward Well Aware, a nonprofit that provides clean drinking water to people in need.
